Vicki St. Pierre’s warm, lush voice “invitingly combines clarity of expression and beauty of tone”, and is described as “rich with both a darkness and brightness.”

In the winter of 2004 Vicki made debut appearances with both the Edmonton Symphony and the Calgary Philharmonic orchestras, and sang Handel’s Messiah with the International Symphony. In early 2005 Vicki appeared with Opera Atelier in Charpentier’s Acteon, sang Bach’s Magnificat with the Toronto Bach Consort, and then a program of French music with the Talisker Players. Vicki went on to perform and record a work by Harry Somers with Soundstreams Canada, and this summer she performs a Proms program at the Huntsville Festival. She will musically direct Opera Atelier’s summer student opera, Venus and Adonis. Next season sees Vicki join the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, give a Pops recital in Milton and join the Toronto Philharmonia Orchestra for “A Night At The Opera”. She rejoins Soundstreams Canada in performing the Canadian premiere of a work by Steve Reich.

Last season saw Vicki give her debut at Festival Vancouver in the Early Music Vancouver production of Monteverdi’s opera, L’Incoronazione di Poppea, followed by Toronto Philharmonia’s production of Rossini’s Il Barbiere diSiviglia, and Cleveland Opera’s Coronation of Poppea. Highlights of her oratorio engagements included Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (national CBC Broadcast) with Tafelmusik, and with the London Symphonic Chorus. Vicki also performed with the Toronto Philharmonia in Last Night of the Proms, Respighi’s Il Tromonto with the Talisker Players, and a Pops program in her debut with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

Highlights of past seasons include performances with the Menno Singers, the London Fanshawe Symphonic Chorus, Chorus Niagara, the Aradia Ensemble and the Bell ‘Arte Singers in Toronto, the Toronto Consort and with the Toronto Chamber Choir, as well as performances in Eugene, Oregon.

A versatile artist, Ms. St. Pierre’s opera roles include Urbain in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots, Malcom in Rossini’s La Donna Del Lago, Isabella in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Arnalta and Nutrice in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, and Third Lady in Mozart’s Magic Flute.

Ms. St. Pierre was featured in the Canadian premiere of Ned Rorem’s Evidence of Things Not Seen in Toronto, and in the past two years has given the world premieres of Galbraith’s “Let Evening Come” and Minden’s “L’ombre” with the Talisker Players.

Ms. St. Pierre holds a Master Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Western Ontario. She is represented by Gossage Artists Management, and can be contacted through them at nancy@gossageartists.com.
