June 2-6 in New Hamburg, Ontario.
Nancy Knowles, Producer of the New Hamburg Live! Festival of the Arts, was named Wilmot Township's Cultural Citizen of the Year in the township's annual Citizen of the Year awards ceremony. She was honoured by representatives of the township, the Region of Waterloo, the province of Ontario, and the government of Canada, represented by MP Harold Albrecht.
The first annual New Hamburg Live! Festival of the Arts, May 20-24, was so successful that organizers have immediately begun plans for the 2010 edition of the Festival. Executive director Paul Knowles says the dates for year two have been set as June 2-6, 2010.
The New Hamburg Live! Festival was considered a success by organizers who are already planning for next year. “It was quite a good run,” said organizer Nancy Knowles, who said over 1400 tickets were sold for the various performances.
